Birds are one of the most abundant local animals, from Rufous Hummingbirds like this one to Bald Eagles and Great Blue Heron.  Waterfowl of all kinds migrate to Alaska during the summer months.

Whales, porpoise, seals, sea lions, otters, and other ocean creatures are common in Southeast Alaska waters.  Be aware that it is illegal to pursue or disturb these animals. Details can be found here.
