The bay is not accessible by road, and has no stores. Food, personal
items, sport fish licenses, and personal outdoor gear must be brought in with you.
Two Perception kayaks (pictured in red and yellow) are available for use. Lessons can also be arranged. Life jackets, paddles, spray skirts, etc. are available on site. Please bring rain gear and waterproof shoes or boots. The bay offers miles of shoreline to explore., as well as a multitude of wildlife viewing opportunities.
Funter Bay is a protected anchorage and has two state-maintained
floats for boat tie-up. We can provide free skiff transport within the bay if arranged in advance.
For float plane travel we recommend Ward Air,
an air charter company in Juneau that is located within walking
